This Privacy Policy explains what TripBook AI ("TripBook," "we," "us") collects when you use our iOS app, and what we do with it. Plain English. If anything is unclear, write to support@tripbookai.travel.

1. What TripBook does

TripBook AI lets you select photos from your iPhone to create private travel books. The app reads only the photos you explicitly pick using the system Photos picker. We do not scan your library or access photos you didn't choose.

2. Photos and originals

Original photos always stay on your device. TripBook generates thumbnails for the magazine layout on your iPhone and reads embedded metadata from each photo you import — typically the capture date, orientation, and any GPS coordinates the camera saved. We use this data to suggest dates and cities for your trip and to draw the route map. Your originals are never modified, moved, or deleted.

3. Local storage

Books, generated pages, photo metadata, and exported PDFs are stored on your iPhone in the app's private storage. Books are not synced to a cloud and are not accessible to other apps unless you explicitly export or share them.

4. Location

TripBook does not request your live location. The only location signal we use is what's already embedded inside the photos you choose to import (the GPS coordinates a photo's EXIF carries from when it was taken). We never request, store, or transmit your real-time location.

5. AI generation

When you tap “Generate book,” TripBook sends a request to our backend at api.tripbookai.travel so the AI can draft the editorial copy (chapter titles, captions, story prose). What is sent and what isn't:

What we send

• Trip dates and the cities you confirmed.
• Optional notes you wrote (memory notes, atmosphere, regenerate instructions).
• Optional photo hints per day — for example: how many faces are in a photo, a category like “landscape” or “food,” and capture time. These hints are computed on your iPhone before the request.
• The template and tone you selected.

What we do not send

• Your full-resolution photos are not uploaded for AI text generation in the current version.
• Your name, email, Apple ID, or anything that ties the request to your identity.
• Photos you didn't include in the trip.

Our backend is a thin proxy hosted at api.tripbookai.travel. The text request may then be processed by OpenAI (or another AI service provider we use) to generate the story. Each provider's data handling is governed by its own policies.

6. AI-generated text

Captions and chapters TripBook produces are AI-generated. They may need a quick review before you share or print your book. You can edit any page or regenerate the words for any chapter inside the app.

7. Purchases

In-app purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple StoreKit. Apple processes the payment and shares the entitlement state with the app. We never see your card number, Apple ID, or payment information. You can manage subscriptions in iOS Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions.

8. What we do not do

• We do not sell personal data.
• We do not use third-party advertising trackers, attribution SDKs, or behavioural analytics inside the app.
• We do not require an account, email address, or personal identifier to use the app.

9. Children's privacy

TripBook is rated 4+ on the App Store. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. The app does not require an account and has no public user-generated content.

10. Your control

Because we don't collect personal data tied to an identity, there's nothing on our servers to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. Everything personal lives on your iPhone — you can delete generated data from the app's Settings, or remove TripBook entirely to wipe its local storage.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change how TripBook handles your data, we'll update this page and the “Last updated” date at the top.
